Game won't launch? Try this fix...
I was having the issue others on Win 7 are having that the game would not launch. I restarted but still nothing. Launching uplay I got an error "The procedure entry point cef_parse_csssolor could not be located in the dynamic link library libcef.dll." Downloading the uplay installer from https://uplay.ubisoft.com/en-US and reinstalling uplay fixed the issue.

Hey Ubisoft, how about you get the game we paid for fixed instead of suggestions how to fix it. Your update has stopped many people from playing the game. It’s on you. Work to fix it. I did not pay for a game so you can have me follow instruction just to get my pc to play it. Just fix the damn game so we can get what we paid for. Thanks.

soon a week since we were able to play the game now! Get it fixed already. This was not what we have been paying for. Very disappointed in Ubisoft. No point in buying games from ubisoft if we are not able to play them!

I have been talking and working with ubisoft support for almost 6 hours to get it to start after patch 5.3. I have tried everything they have requested with no luck. Worked fine since launch up until the update, now starts loading for about 10 seconds then crash to desktop with no error messages. I have no problems with any other game I own but ubi support says its a problem with my windows (windows 7) and the only option left is to format my computer and start over. Anyone else have any luck?

Same issue since last patch. Game appears to launch but crashes to desktop, no errors. The game ran fine, just fine before the update. I'm using w7, it has not yet reached eol. Do not let them con you into reinstalling windows, that is BS.
Edit: if you watch taskman, anno 1800.exe does crash.

The error lies on the steam side -> Uplay. Not on the system or hardware side. I installed the game with Patch 5.3 from the Uplay Only app and the game works! And on the same hardware with Steam -> Uplay does not want to work on Patch 5.3. The error lies on the part of Synchronizing Steam Anno 1800 Files with the Uplay application.

PS: I also use windows 7 64 bit

Salon what does that mean? Can I do something about it crashing as far as changing something in steam or uplay?
I’m using windows 7, is that the cause? Crazy that they haven’t even publicly acknowledged it yet.

Here is what Ubisoft has had me tried so far, nothing has worked. I am also running win 7 pro. They are reviewing the MSINFO. Here is what I think the issue is: 10/17/2019 11:21 PM Application Error Faulting application name: igfxCUIService.exe, version: 6.15.10.3650,
igfxCUIService.exe is disabled but the game is still trying to run off it.
Hello there,

In order to fully troubleshoot the problem that you are having, please try the steps below:

1. Disabling your background applications:

Go to the Start menu on your Desktop. Press the Windows key and the letter R at the same time.
Type in MSCONFIG and press Enter.
Go to the Startup tab, and click Open Task Manager.
For each Startup item in the Task Manager, select the item then click Disable.
Close Task Manager.
On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, click OK, then restart the computer.

Note: For Windows 7, you can simply click Disable All on the Startup tab within the System Configuration window.

2. Clearing your temporary files:

Go to the Start menu on your Desktop. Press the Windows key and the letter R at the same time.
Type in %TEMP% and press Enter.
Select All (Edit > Select All or Ctrl+A).
Click the Delete key.

Note: If you are using Windows 7, you will need to press Ctrl + A together to highlight the files. Once the files are highlighted, you will need to press the Delete key.

3. Make sure the drivers for your video card, sound card, motherboard and processor are up-to-date. Running 2 cards in SLI or running 2 screens can also cause issues. Deactivate SLI or unplug any additional screens you may be using. If you are overclocking, try running at the stock clock settings.

4. Make sure that any antivirus or firewall software on your system is disabled.

5. Install Windows Updates:
Click on the Windows Start button and go to All Programs --> Windows Update. In the left pane, click "Check for updates" and if any are found choose "Install updates."

Please upload your MSINFO file which can be found by performing the following steps. This file will allow me to take a better look at your system and may help to diagnose the problem.

1. Press the Windows key and the "R" key at the same time.
2. In the Open box, type 'msinfo32' (without the quotes) and click OK.
3. When the program comes up, open the Software Environment section on the left side and select Windows Error Reporting.
4. Make sure that the Windows Error Reporting has also completely loaded prior to saving.
5. At the top, click on File and click on Save.
6. Click the 'save' button to save the file as an .nfo file to your Desktop.
7. Click the following link: https://support.ubi.com/en-US/Cases
8. Enter your Ubisoft Account credentials and click Login.
9. Click on the question that you wish to update.
10. Click "Attach documents"
11. Find the ".nfo" file to attach the MSINFO32 file and click Open.
12. Click "SUBMIT ATTACHMENTS" to complete the incident.

If you receive an error stating that the file is too large, you will need to compress it using either WinZip or WinRAR. Once received, we will examine your system information and get back to you as soon as we can with a possible solution to your problem

Nothing at the moment, think ubisoft doesn't know that. I had Anno 1800 Uplay versions from a friend and it worked on my equipment, nothing to change but by downloading the game via the Uplay application and not Steam. It remains only to wait for them to release some package to Anno game files on Steam.

Salon, if I bought it through steam, would I have to again pay to get it on uplay? Kind of confused. Thanks for the info, hopefully the do something soon, Uplay sucks bad.
