Limited Connection, NAT Unknown [SOLVED]
I'm not able to play Anno 1800 multiplayer. The game always notifies me of "Limited connection" and "NAT type: unknown". After tens and tens of restarts I might be able to connect. Here's what I've done to try and fix this issue:
  • Made an exception in my firewall/antivirus software for Anno 1800
  • Port forwarding ports TCP 80, 443 and UDP 18000
  • Running Anno 1800 and Steam as administrator
  • Resetting router and running ipconfig /release /flushdns and /renew commands

Is there anything else that might help?

EDIT:
Okay, listen up. VPN software(s) seems to be interfering with Anno 1800, somehow. I was using F-Secure Freedome and even though I had it disabled, I still couldn't connect to multiplayer. Only after I uninstalled Freedome completely, my game was able to function properly. Seems that Freedome kept running in the background with some extra safety features or something of that sort, I don't know. All I know for sure is that in my case the VPN software was the culprit.

In the rare chance where Ubisoft support reads this: Please, add this into your troubleshoot guide. There is at least one person out there, besides me, that solved his problem too by doing something to his VPN software.
