Victory Conditions menu CRASH
Every time i try to create a sandbox game it crashes upon clicking the small sideways arrow that enables the victory conditions option.. the other concern is that i don't see any type of "Domination victory" option, does it mean the game ends when i eliminate every other AI or this mode is not available like in previous Anno games? Thank you.

Thank you for reporting this to us.

If you haven't already, the first thing we'd advise is verifying the game files. This will check for missing or corrupt game files and replace them. You can find Steam's steps on performing this here

I'm not sure there's a Condition names that, but there's a number of ones you can set. You can also have no Conditions, which would allow you to play infinitely .

I've verified the game files, restarted the computer and still have the same problem. It crashes every time I scroll the top list selection on the victory conditions menu.

Are you able to play the Campaign without the game crashing?

Do you meet the minimum requirements to run the game? These can be seen here[support.ubi.com]

Yes I can. I've beat the Campaign but I've never tried to play the sandbox mode before. So far I have about 20 hours on the game without crashes.

My specs are:

CPU: FX 8350
GPU: GTX 970 SSC (watercooled)
RAM: 16 GB
MB: Biostar 990FXE
OS: Win 7
HD: ADATA 480GB SSD
All clocks are set at stock speed, nothing OCd.

I can scroll the selection to the first option in the menu that says "one" but when I click the side arrow again it crashes.

Is there a game log file I can post? If so where could I find it?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for getting back to us, Sikon

Unfortunately I'm not sure where the exact log files would be at the moment.

If you look in the Windows Error reporting, does it show the application crashing there? Do you get an error message or does the game just act like it was closed?

I found anno 1800 folders that say log but there is nothing inside which is strange because of how much i've played already. I have log files in my other anno folder (anno2070). However, I do have log files in my "Anno 1800 Open Beta>log" folder.

Windows event viewer doesn't show any errors or crashes. Windows resource monitor shows the game was "terminated" in the status column shortly after crash.

The crash is quick and clean. I regain control about 4 seconds after pressing the selection arrow.

I noticed other people having the same problem on other forums. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to troubleshoot. Deleting, purging the game files from my documents, and reinstalling the game did not solve the problem.

(My apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread.)

Thanks for the extra details, we appreciate you providing all these extra details.

Just to confirm, when you purged the files you also removed the Save files for the game? Even just moving them from the folder to the desktop.

Could you provide us with a video of the crash?

Yes. I removed my save game files to the desktop and deleted all other files. I'll post a video when I get home from work today.

Thanks

Thanks for providing that video.

For the others in this thread, could you also let us know the system setup you are using? Like that provided by Sikon above? It would be interesting to see if there was a particular similarity between yourselves.

I wait for Patch #2 and hope your developers know their job.

While I can understand it's frustrating, we need to collect details on an issue as it makes it more difficult to be able to resolve the issue in question.

This would especially be the case if the issue isn't occurring for all users.

The devs did make a big open-beta - there must be so much data. Or did the game on all beta-testers not crash?
