Should I buy this game?
Anno has been a city builder franchise I have been in love with since i first placed Venice. I even play 2070 now and again.

I've scouted this game, it's on sale for cheap. But all the reviews about technical issues are spooking me.

Is it worth it? Should I rather buy it on the ubisoft store?

Any advise would be appreciated

The game, itself, is great, and imho the best game of the entire series. I'd readily recommend getting the complete thing even without a sale.

However, I'd wait until the current launch issues surrounding the Steam re-release update are solved. There's still plenty time left to consider buying during the curent sale.

After reading the reviews and forums, I anticipated trouble.

Worked 100% for me after install. Not everyone is having these issues. It's a gamble.

I bought the game in good faith but am stuck with the before mentioned issues. Apparently there will an announcement of a potential fix patch - I'm holding off refunding the game until then.

I've very disappointed. If I do refund I guess I'll end up waiting another year or so until more fixes are baked in and the price comes down further.
Chances are, you won't get to play it (Right now). Bought it a few days ago, had no issues, but today I can't launch the game. You better wait for now, sales are far from over.

I bought complete version yesterday (I hesitate to buy because there are too many users said they have launch issue). after uninstalling uplay version, I installed steam version. the game running fine. but after reading your comment, Iam thinking if I better refund steam version and install uplay version (base game only) or keep it. :')

I would buy on Ubisoft rather than steam, it's less painful to work with tech support, I had no issues running game on patch 16, been played 1,700 on ubisoft last 4 year.
So if you willing to buy on Ubisoft, go for it as it's easier and better get full support than 2 store because game make designed to run by Ubisoft, it's need to run by ubisoft, so any issues, you only had one ticket to deal with rather than 2 ticket to deal with if you buy other store than ubisoft like steam or epic store (I would avoid epic store). Nothing wrong to buy on steam, but I prefer Ubisoft as it's make less headarch to deal if there is issues come up with and need talk with ticket support.

If buying on steam, you had 2 team support to deal, so I rather deal with one team support over 2 support try to work out. So yes, go ahead buy on Ubisoft, and game seem more issues on steam as well higher risk and game need to run by Ubisoft anyway.
