FWIW, I had the exact same issue with the game not launching. Managed to fix it via the following steps, do note that however, I had ubisoft connect already preinstalled:

- Launch Ubisoft Connect
- Verify anno 1800 files via steam (properties -> local files -> Verify Integrity of Game Files...)
- Reboot my pc
- Game managed to launch.

I have no idea what's the cause and why it worked after the reboot, but it could potentially be an older version of Ubisoft connect that is causing the problem. The above steps worked for me, but YMMV.

yeah is too late i bought complete edition less one hour ago XD

Problem: Anno 1800 (steam version), did not successfully complete it's launch. To be more precise: it didn't launch ever! It also never synced the steam key to uplay.

Solution: Anno 1800 needs to be started as ADMIN, this can easily be done by opening the properties of steamapps\common\Anno 1800\Bin\Win64\Anno1800.exe. Just mark the checkbox: "run as admin". It's within the compatability section of settings.

Important!
You also need to run steam.exe AND ubisoft connect as admin in order to make this work.

Hope this helps you to sync the key and start playing the game :)

Also create an u-play account beforehand and login into it via u-play (run .exe as administrator) BEFORE starting steam (again run the .exe via administrator -> rightclick properties).

I've read about the admin stuff but seriously it's an ugly and inconvenient workaround. 10 years ago yeah I would have done smth like that but nowadays all the games run so smoothly I took bad habits :)

seem people right when they mentionne people have problem with their ubisoft launcher

Just make sure your steam, ubisoft connect, and Anno game files are all on the same drive. this resolved that issue on me.

2070 Super is great but won't be able to crank as hard as you are driving it. I strongly suggest using GeForce Experience, Hover on Anno > click Details, then the Wrench icon beside "Optimize." Select your Native Resolution and Optimize at about mid-slider. Launch it from there, in GE. In your case, if you do get in, go to Options and turn off VSYNC.
