Jenny (Forrest Gump)
For the era, Dreadnought should be a ship of the line, but I can understand the reason for making her a battlecruiser. Assuming you use them in order listed, I'd start the BC's as:
Dreadnought
Invincible
Inflexible
Indomitable
Indefatigable
and so on.
Other names could be
Royal Sovereign
Sovereign of the Seas
Superb
Monarch
Thunderer
Centurion
Emperor/Empress of *your city name*
Iron Duke/Duchess/Dog (Iron Dog was apparently the nickname bestowed on Derfflinger by UK sailors.)
Revenge
Repulse
Yes, I know this list is lifted straight from RN dreadnoughts, but the R.N. did have a very inspiring naming policy for their capital ships.
And a name I use for a powerful warship in space games:
Vindicator
And a name you can use for the weakest ship in the fleet (if you are mocking the historical usage) or the best/most powerful (if you are sincere)
Grofaz (google it).
"It sunk."
"Oh..."
