2025 or 1800?

Played Anno long time ago (maybe 1701? :D ), and now im in the mood to play with such type of game again (good memories on Cleopatra, long time ago :D )

Time is limited, so I need to decide which anno episode to play.
Altough I prefer scifi and futuristic settings, I wonder if gameplay wise which one is better, more interesting.
Story elements or a good campaign is really important to me. I prefer to have set objectives to reach instead of endless sandbox....

So which one would you recommend?

While I enjoyed 2205 it is a lot different if you are looking for something like 1701. I'd suggest Anno 1800 or 2070 if you want a futuristic setting. Anno 1800 has the best gameplay, complexity and polish by far but 2070 remains my favourite of the series even if it is a bit dated now.

Also I'd note that 1800 has a lot of campaign missions with DLCs that you can do in one save, while the earlier ones focused on different scenarios. I've got over 300 hours in one 1800 save and still haven't completed all the missions in it.

If I could only choose one then for SP I'd choose 1800 and for MP I'd go with 2070.

Anno 1800 is the best there is and 2070 is extraordinary in its own right for the time it came out.
