Flashing black screen - then total black screen

Hi,

After playing Anno 1800 for around a hundred hours without any problems, the screen suddenly blinked black, until it remained black with no way of returning to the Windows desktop, the only solution was to power off the computer.

I spent a week trying to figure out what I'd changed in my graphics configuration to make the game crash. I've finally found a solution that works - at least on my configuration (Windows 11). Here it is.

In the "Intel Graphics Configuration Center" program, I set the "Adaptative sync (VESA's adaptive sync function)" option to "disabled".

I notice the display is now slightly less fluid, but the screen no longer turn to black so I can play again. Perhaps this will help one or two people experiencing black screen problems on this game, or others, a problem that most probably have nothing to do with the games themselves, but rather with the infernal complexity of all the drivers stepping on each other's toes...
