Minimum Stock setting explanation please
I'm hoping to get some clarification on trade settings. So if I set my minimum stock of, say, schnapps, to 20, what exactly does that restrict? More precisely:

A-I'm guessing it keeps ANY npc ships from buying any amount from me that would take it below 20?

B-Will it ALSO stop any of my own ships I might have on a route moving it between my islands from taking any if it would drop it below 20?

C-This has nothing to do with your population's use, correct? They'll still drink it till it's gone and then tank your economy (amazing how being out of something like schnapps can cause a $4000 swing).

Pretty sure I get a&c, but not sure if those restrictions apply to your own ships or not. Thanks.

Its a.b and c. It will prevent ships taking any goods below this number. NPC or Your Ships. Thats all.
This is very useful before you have communer pier to provide goods for multiple islands.
You set min amount to make sure the island doesn't run dry and have only the surplus shiped to the next population island.

Appreciate your confirmation. I'm having both a potato and a money crisis and wanted to know for sure before I go in and set about 150 trade goods.

As a player of Anno 1404, when I heard that Anno 1800 allowed setting a minimum stock to keep trade routes from emptying storage completely, it was a major encouragement to try this game. A very welcome improvement! I would even wish for two or three minima-- perhaps one for passive trade, a second for local trade routes, and a third for inter-regional. Local trade routes are usually lower priority, whereas you want ships traveling between regions to run full if possible. Perhaps a modder could add this capability sometime-- or isn't Ubisoft hospitable to mods?

You can set your trader ships to wait in your harbour until the hold has been completely filled/emptied (as applicable) in the trade route menu, so you can have your interregional traders only leave when completely full.
