Is Ubisoft Connect down today?
Just bought the game. It wont' start because it says it can't connect to Ubisoft Connect.

When I went to their website and tried to download it manually, the link is broken, or just hangs until it times out.

Yeah, disappointing. seems ubi.li is completely down or I can't access it at all.

The Ubisoft Support on X posted today, "If you’re experiencing issues with Ubisoft Connect, try running the application with administrator rights 👇."

LOL, how do we do that on Proton? I wonder if they made some administration changes that broke compatibility with Steam Proton? Anyway, I'm just talking to myself since nobody is replying.

Yeah, all I get is a pop-up saying, "Unable to detect Ubisoft Connect Installation. Please make sure Ubisoft Connect is installed."

If you've already installed and ran the game in the past, I imagine this doesn't affect you.

It's a shame to have to issue a refund. This looked really cool.

Sorry to keep spamming my own thread, but it is a holiday weekend. I'm still trying to figure out how to get ubisoft connect to work on proton. If there are any suggestions, I'd appreciate any advice. From searches, it appears other have gotten 1800 to work.

Well, I finally figured out what the problem was. During the installation of proton, the Steam developers should add UbisoftConnect to the cookbook. The game doesn't install it on its own. I had to use protontricks to install it. After that the game runs fine.

Thank you for your answers.
I didn't have the same problems with Proton on Steam Deck but it's always nice to post a solution for those who'll come after you.

I honestly believe my Internet provider was blocking the download. When I access the ubisoft website, I still can't pull up the short link provided to download the installation executable by hand. After having UbisoftConnect installed, there are no issues with reaching the internal servers.
