Stalemate with Beryl in the old world with a catch
I am in the old and new worlds and have yet to get to Cape T.

In the old world I have defeated Beryl in that she has no ships and her 3 islands are isolated by my fleet. But her islands are heavily defended with guns and flame throwers so there is no way I can get past them (or knock them out) to the new world with my sailing ships. I need a steam fleet to knock her out but can't progress without new world rum and other mats.

The only way I can think of to progress is to get to the new world via Cape T, bypassing her blockade. But this Old - Cape - New method will take FOREVER to transfer goods.

I think in the older Anno's I could lay out a path with waypoints for my ships but AFAIK that isn't possible with 1800.

Any ideas out there?

Don't technically need rum since it's a happiness good, but if you really want it you can buy enough from Kahina until a very high demand

Go to Eli and pray to find the Costume Designer to bypass cotton fabric for the fur coats, then it's easy access to engineers and GG

One thing you can do: Just buy her islands

Possibility two: In the trade route menu you can drag the connection point around

If I were in your situation, I would play the long-term game: Ignore the New World, keep up the stalemate in the Old World, and pour all available resources into securing Crown Falls and as many other islands in Cape T. as fast as I can (so Beryl's options there are limited or, best case, non-existant). Then I would build up Crown Falls as the new economic hub of my empire as fast as I can. Since CF is so huge and you can supply it internally from Cape T., the massive economic potential by that region alone should be enough to then expand your fleet and crush Beryl.

If you still want to push into the New World from Cape T. during this, then you can also just ship the New World goods to Cape T. and use them on Crown Falls, instead of sending them on to the Old World.

Get the Actor and Costume Designer from Eli. The Actor means that you don't need Rum or Canned Food. The Costume Designer means you don't need Cotton Fabric. Buy Coffee from Kahina; you can get enough to supply about 80 Engineer houses. You now don't need the New World at all. You should now be able to build your Battle Cruisers. If not, you can upgrade your Engineers to Investors, for more income/influence, but don't give them Coffee. You can easily support 200+ Investors, and make millions, without the New World. Buy Beryl out or make Battle Cruisers and defeat her militarily

Crikey! I always thought the inter-world entry/exit points were fixed. What grief that ignorance has caused me. Thanks.
