Question about trading...
I had a look at the forum but I didn't find what I need, so here I am!

I don't understand a thing about trading: I set a few items to buy (example: when an Item is under x units) and other few items to sell (when an item is above x units) at the harbor.. but... I'm not buying or selling anything? How does it work?

I imagined that someone of the other AI Players would come from time to time to me to sell or buy from me those items... but it's not happening. So how can I buy or sell those items?

I even tried to make trade rights with others.. but it doesn't change anything. :(

Any help?

Neutral traders should come by your harbor and buy/sell (their ships travel back and forth from settled islands to their harbor), but a/ there is a limited amount of money they can spend per transaction, b/ they may not sell just about anything to you, but you can reliably expect e.g. Archie to sell you bricks, steel beams etc.

As for the competitors, I wouldn't rely on them for anything

Are you sure it's not happening? If you Ctrl+W then click 'All Goods' you can see the passive trades that have happened.

It is pretty limited and random however - you can't rely on AI trade this way. Low value items like fish and timber probably won't get bought.

Docklands aside, the only way to be sure to get rid of stock is to set a minimum then set a trade route to a neutral trader like Archie and unload (sell) there
