On top of that, since I'm on a sort of quasi-rant, I'm not keen on how many save files are accumulated as a result of this insistence of auto-saving when you exit. Always have to go in and do a manual delete session... made more difficult by the cryptic naming. At least they indicate the date, so you have at least some clue as to what you are looking at deleting.
Just kind of wish it was like other games, in that respect. Otherwise, I'm loving it...
There are a couple of ways you can mitigate the things that you mention.
In terms of incrementing save numbers, if you just type in exactly the same name for a manually save every time (without a number), it will automatically add the incrementing numbers.
You can increase the interval between autosaves in the settings. Unfortunately, you cannot change the number of autosaves that it keeps (like you can in every other game I own). I totally agree that these autosaves take up a ridiculous amount of disk space.
Ah, well... Someone needs to make a 'accumulated save game cleaner' mod or something.
