And if you then add an automatic mechanism to get rid of the annoyance (or unlimited options in the very late game), you could've just added unlimited deposits from the start.
So, I don't believe limited deposits are a good idea.
I agree, in 1404 there is the refill button and it's just one more repetitive boring task to take care of in late game
Now if you talk about ran out of resources then it's wouldn't be good game in long term and not fun to play game in sandbox that design endless gameplay type, unless it's short term goal like scenario, they already did that in scenarios but it's won't work in sandbox and campaign that turn into sandbox, most people who play long term making biggest population or design beautiful city, those required no limited resources but it's limited resources in way due how much used of mine vs population need and want plus there is space issues. So that idea isn't good and not designed for campaign and sandbox for endless gameplay type.
