and it is not the only franchise with this weird system where the player is only spectator, i see same thing in the first starcraft, 3 or 4 mmorpg game
my god you really want to be banned or what ?? rip man if next week we see red letter near your name
And their so called traditions don't really make the game better. Do we really need a bjergsen to either punch down like a dog or keep like a pet because they're just so nice? Wibblesock has more personality than benten of all things.
I do enjoy this game a lot but that doesn't mean I don't have some complaints about how they manage stuff. Specially with the production stats not including imports from your transports making it awkward to try to tweak what you need making it so you always must overproduce a bit too much. It is awkward AF
If they decide to ban me from the forums is not a big deal and it's certainly not going to make me buy 117. You can bet ubilol will pull out the same ♥♥♥♥ they're doing with "spaceballs 2 now it's personal" and and the husk that used to be Assassin's Creed. Except 117 like every other city builder will release on alpha and will need years of dlcs to be complete. If you're lucky
they show since 2019 they dont need us so much
and it is more steam rule than really ubisoft rule you try to push your luck
This is not Reddit where a bunch of weirdos try to force their narrative at any cost.
I have no respect for Ubisoft, minimal hopes for 117 to be good and any smart player should do the same.
And if Ubisoft didn't need steam they wouldn't come back crawling. Valhalla is now on steam, Anno complete is on steam, etc..They try to squeeze some extra money at first but I'd be surprised if all those games take more than a year to make it into steam.
if steam modo read that you are rip for few days on this forum
I agree on the "modern audiences" points however, I own and played all of the seven games, and the Anno series has almost being untouched until now (1800 got some, but it's not too too bad) by the woke mind virus, but I fear for it in 117. I want a cool cartoonish city builder in which to trade, build and set production chains up, not a lecture on feminism, equality and inclusion.
"I need a cultural melting pot in which unite diverse cultures and fight for equity" no one ever said while playing Caesar III.
Then again, it's self evident that No Steam = No buy anyway.
This ist why I won't wishlist it.
I disagree with this for 2 reasons: the first is that you don't need to co op with them, they can just exist and do their own thing in same world you are in, I can't see anything wrong with it, just an other faction building cities and roaming the world with their ships.
The second reason is that they can in fact help, the first game I ever played in 1800 it was a sandbox with only Bente as AI, and she bought a lot of my stuff propping my economy, was fairly slow in colonizing but she colonized nonetheless and she dropped aid packages to my main island so that when things like rum or chocolate were in shortage, while I was grasping my first time with the new world mechanic, the pop didn't lose too much ground.
Then again it might be a me problem I guess...to be fair I did get into this game hoping it'd scratch the itch for a worthy successor of Caesar 3 or patrician 3. But this game doesn't have a good export/import system. The docklands don't count as it's pretty much hacking items into existence every half an hour and forcing Archibald into buying everything you have is not akin to a proper system. As I said I do enjoy this game. But the interaction with the AI feels lack luster and story wise it feels unfinished. I wish the competitors had proper questlines that show you more about them.
Yes...the quests have some flavor, it is from this flavor that we know Hunt is the grandmaster or how Qing's father works on tencent and wants her to spy on us. But in 4 years of dlc they never really expanded on this. I might be mistaken but I don't think I am
Sadly there is nothing like Caesar III, Patrician III or Port Royale 2, I played them for years and loved them, but they're gone as series at this point. Not even the new Patricians, Caesar and Port Royales hold the older standards, but if you don't know it yet there is a very good community mod for Caesar III called Augustus, it basically let's you play the game on modern systems up to 4K with updated interfaces and updates some mechanics too, there is a plague systems, there are many new buildings, ton of new decorations and it's all really well integrated, it seems like a proper expansion.
For the Anno series I personally prefer 1404 over 1800, in fact I think 1404 is my favorite overall, even if it's smaller in scale, I like a lot 1701 and 1602 too, I think you would have fun playing 1602 HE, it's the first of the series, it has no real AI character, not even a trader island, only random AI players and the endless game lacks almost every option as far as set up goes, but for being 26 years old it holds fairly well in my opinion, then again maybe it's that I'm used to playing to it.
I had no idea about the augustus mod. I own Caesar 3 on steam but it's clunky AF...It was the first pc game i ever owned back in 1999 together with simcity 2000 so it will always be a bit special but havent played it in a long time.
For anno 1404 i kind of feel like playing the campaign but the little time i'm playing lately it's being mostly not anno. I found a little gem in the next fest, perhaps you're interested. It's citadelum. It feels a lot like a modernized Caesar. Didnt dwell too deep in the demo as i made some mistakes in the planning due to lack of knowledge and that it's a demo after all but it feels good enough that i think it deserves a shot as a C3 fan.
Nice talk.
