Need some mid-game help! Stuck in a demand loop.
So Im kind of stuck in this place around 10k total inhabitants where anything I try to do at the top end of my population (engineer stuff) creates this huge demand up the line, mostly among farmer and worker goods, that I just cant seem to keep up.
It creates this situation for me where the game seems to ask of me to spend real time HOURS to build up, say, an island specifically to make schnaps or ponchos or whatever and create this giant transport network to support the downstream. Similarly, my expenses just outpace my population more and more.

Am I misunderstanding something here..? Like, I want to engage with content I havent engaged with yet and not build up more and more and more farmer level islands only to provide enough basic goods.

Yes definitely. Supporting all Artisan needs before electricity is a major pain.

Getting like 20k population before trying for engineers helps. You're going to need to ramp up all the supplies without electricity. Its annoying for sure.

Build is easy blocks and plan to delete most of it when you get electricity.

At some point you might consider skipping schnapps at all, it's very workforce intensive, they drink it like milk but all in all, you will not be rich by making farmers happy
Perhaps only supply it to workers, but then again, they barely make it worth it imo.

If you have docklands you can also consider importing it, that'll be a relief

Schnapps is actually my favorite thing to mass produce. I have had islands that no joke make like 70-100+ tons per minute for export.

Increasing the yield on farms can be seen like also decreasing the space they use. Feras, plows, yadda yadda.

The farmers are the pops that deserve it the most lol, they almost never complain, have basic needs and do all the heavy lifting on agricolture
