Building beautiful?
So I've been building a rather nice city, which was nice and efficient, sprawled out across the island, but the attractiveness of the city is in the toilet. Quite literally, I think.

What do I have to keep in mind while designing the city to keep it nice and beautiful?
Any tips are appreciated!

Attractiveness takes a hit whenever you build production that's causing vulgarity (e.g. all pig related stuff) or pollution (heavy industry), even if you're building pretty

Best move those off your island to preserve attractiveness

I see... must be the amount of politicians I have rolling around in the mud then, thanks, I'll remember that.

Hi at a certain point of development youll need to do a complete rebuild of the production chains and the movement of resources. Im now at 1 bil $ in the bank with earning almost 1 mil per month in revenue. This has take about 400 hrs of constant change and many restart of new game until i realised that after you settle your main island you need to keep production away from your city island. Grow slow in the beginning use commuter peers on all islands plus build complete docklands on all islands as you grow youll understand that its one of the best ways to keep full of raw materials. if you buy coal on one dockland buy iron ore on another for example and then set up a trade route to move it to where you need it. Dont be afraid to stop everything and reset it all...(production/trade ships/routes) atm ive prob got 250 trade ships of all shapes and sizes and im about to stop them all and then delete the routes and then reset them ...im doing it because as you grow you have to move production to individual islands or you cant get the max attractiveness. Once you start to move production things become much easier and you dont need to build housing on those islands just production. You may want to produce 1 2 or 3 different items on one island up to you. and setting up the right people in trade union buildings that specialise and increase that production is massive. It changes the game. Once you start to change things focus on one island at a time fill it complete it every inch should be utilised for what you want...and if you have a spare bit of space build an orchid...lol or something. make sure you have your harbours and piers set up with harbour masters that have people in them that give you extra goods that you can sell through your docklands for resources...it took me a while to realise its the only way to get the attractiveness to max. dont settle every island at the start focus on one or two city islands and funnel everything through them. Anyway others will prob have some other ideas but this is something wish i had read when i started lol it would have saved me prob 150 hrs of hard work and struggle. and give the people when they need. its the same for NW and Crown falls but enbasa youll need to develop each island as there is no commuter piers in enbasa from what i understand (i might be wrong about this bit) i have only set up two islands atm there. Once your set and you have your research institute you can research a large portion of the cultural/botanical and zoo animals build 3 or 4 of each plus all the other community and public buildings over the city so they effect all the city and dont forget town halls once you gat max palace you can set trade unions and town halls so they have an extra slot so you can add extra people to give more bonuses in them. Also until you have the football stadium in manola NW you will eventually run out of Influence points. Dont stress as you can get 150 points each 20 min from the football stadium. So you wont ever have to stress about having lots of trade unions or town halls. Hope some of this is of help. o7...oh i ment to say also im in sandbox mode with no pirates or npc traders. i tried playing with them in the beginning doing the story-line but it was much harder the npc traders kept trying to buy my islands...lol and the pirates kept killing my trade ships...lol
