Literally hundreds of potential hours of gameplay time of one of the best games in its genre.
And it's not going to be the last sale, for sure.
Now, if that's still too expensive in your eyes - do take a look at what other kind of trash games gets thrown at you for the same price these days.
I am absoutely with you on your last sentence. Didnt buy a full-priced game for years (apart from divinity original sin 2).
I did see that package. But I love all the make-things-look-nice-stuff. I dont care for the 30th island to pack a few factories onto that to produce more goods so I can build more houses to produce more goods so I can build more houses to produce more... (you get the point).
The cosmetic things (that are scarce / non-existing) in the basegame are what makes building interesting for me. And Ubisoft knows that. So they are trying to abuse this by putting rediculous prices on these DLC, even though they take very little to no production time.
To complicate things further, the game recognizes Steam and Epic as official non-Ubisoft DRM platforms that make purchases from each platform unique only to that platform, even though they all require activation on Ubisoft as well. To my best understanding, these non-Ubisoft DRM platforms are redundant since Ubisoft itself should be the sole DRM platform but this doesn't seem to be the case. Consequently, if you get the base game on any non-Steam platforms, you cannot purchase DLCs on Steam and activate them on Ubisoft because Steam technically recognizes only its "version" of the base game.
If anyone knows better and thinks that what I said above is inaccurate, I'm all ears.
No, this is an issue with the DLC page and how the DLCs are offered. You do NOT have to pay 350 euro to get the all the DLCs, and I'm not talking about Steam sales, either.
You only need to buy the top seven items on the list in the DLC page plus Deluxe Pack, and you'll have everything. Every other item below that is included in those top seven, they're just listed individually in case someone just wanted one DLC from a Season Pass, and not the others, or just one cosmetic item, etc. So, there's a lot of duplication on that list.
So if you just bought the top seven and Deluxe Pack, at regular price, you'd spend about 154 euro to get every DLC.
All other DLCs are just nice and cosmetics without any gameplay impact.
LOL ok devs have to pay their bills and thats a typical price.... Not greedy at all compared to the amount of hrs into the game....
you just a broke ♥♥♥♥♥
*Golf clap
Run along then, with your Farthest Frontier and Timberborn
Definitely not "milking". $15 marked off from $60 is a phenomenal steal, as this game is definitely worth the price (I own it on UConnect, not Steam, I just visit the forum for news). The price even non-sale is decent for the game at its scale level--not devs being greedy at all.
Yep. Clearly I'm suffering from many hours of satisfied gameplay and happiness, instead of crying bitterly on a forum. I'm obviously one of the ones who needs to reassess my actions....
