How does the diving bell work?

I just started the Trelawney quests, and I need to do a dive, except I don't know how. I'm told I was given a diving bell, but I don't see it anywhere on my ship.

The Salvager ship that you were given (with the crane at the front) includes the diving bell (it's on the end of the crane). When that ship is above a diving site, there is a diving bell button that you can click that initiates the dive.

You didn't receive an item - you received a new special ship type, the Salvager, which has the diving bell attached to it. Use it to do all your diving.

Yes, I understood afterwards that it was not an item but a ship. Thanks for the answers anyway.

Very useful for try get special craft to make those Jet item specialist for your cargo ship, and keep you busy finding them while waiting on city to collect resources and produce sure as building materials.

Warning: wandering around and diving from one spot to the other is very addictive :D It can net some cool stuff too, like a bunch of Champagne, makes very good money early on

Salvager diving ship BUG : impossible to insert a specialist (for salvager) in an item slot in the salvager !

What is happening ???

For example, I have Scara the marine biologist, but I can't put her in any salvager slot !
Why ??? Is this a bug ??? Could this be due to a mod ???

I found the cause, but I don't understand why the specialists I have cannot be assigned to the salvager !!??

The cause is that the "allocation" of the salvager is: DivingVessel
<allocation>DivingVessel</allocation>

If I add (or replace) the ship type by this : "Ship", then in this case, it works ! :
<allocation>Ship</allocation>

What is wrong with this game ???

FYI, I have the entire game Full DLC (I have absolutely all of them!) on the Ubisoft platform !
