Why can i not zoom out more?

A very obvious way to improve the game would be to allow me to zoom out more. I can't even see my island as a whole.

I noticed similar restrictions in other games too. Often I think "why the f**k can I not zoom out more?". What is the reason to limit the zoom-out? Is this a memory restriction or some other technicality?

There is an option to enable farther zoom. It isn't much further, but definitely better. If you have that enabled already and it's not enough for you, maybe there's a mod.
