Small warehouse issue
I've seen other people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. I'm at the stage of the first part of the game where I need to build Lumberjack house, a sawmill, and then a small warehouse nearby (connected to the trade house). I build my lumberjack house + sawmill, the lumberjack fills up on wood pretty quickly. I build my small warehouse next door (with a road linking the two to the Trade house), but I just get the blueprint of the warehouse.

I can see that I don't have any timber to build the warehouse with, my lumberjacks can't seem to deliver wood to the sawmill without a small warehouse for storage, but I can't make the small warehouse because I don't have any wood going to the saw mill.

I've attempted to buy timber from the trade house but I can't seem to do that either. Can someone help me out here? I feel like I'm at a dead end.

As kmmacman said. Also, Sir Archie always sells timber (and is the only AI character who does) - and bricks, and steel beams. Just sail to his island and buy some.

You can start by placing your lumberjacks/sawmills near the trade post, they also pick up goods from nearby buildings, then once you have enough wood, feel free to relocate elsewhere with a warehouse

Thank you olympe ... I stand corrected ,, Archie does indeed sell timber so if, DoogzyDurrtz, your having a problem buying timber you may need to check your BUY WHEN UNDER setting so the trading ship will know that you are in need of timber. It has to be any number above "0" . EX: Set at 20 the ship will see you don't have 20 so I can sell them at least that much, Or as stated above sail a ship to Archie's port and buy it.

Always build the warehouse first costs 10 timber. Build Woodcutters and Sawmills nearby. It's really easy to build a bunch of houses then realise you are out of timber.

Indeed. Which is why I start out with the timber production - at least one, but preferably more than that - and then with the market and houses. And, yes, I usually keep my first few timber productions close to the trade post.
