Nothing has been announced so far, there aren't leaks or rumors either.

Let's start a rumor then...

No official news. Plenty of chatter on Reddit. My guess is that the players' current favourite is something ancient; Rome, Greece etc My big plea though is please, please, please no more future themes. 2205 was certainly by far and away the worst Anno ever.

i agree that 2205 is kind of meh.

2205 wasn't great, but that doesn't mean future themes don't work. 2070 was a big improvement of 1404, did everything that made that game great and added so much to it. But I understand that many people just don't like future scenarios and I'd be totally fine with an ancient scenario.

I feel good with every theme. 1800 is perfect to me. i just think its gameplay has a lot potential, they could expand something even more if game was set in different theme/age.

so that why i asked for some news.

A three maps game with rome, greece and egypt in the classical period would be so good indeed, and they would all have a lot of peculiarities, interesting items, architecture and goods to craft/create

No real news about the next game.
This question was asked a couple weeks ago. Here's what I replied back then:

The developers announced back in December 2022 that they were already working on "the future of Anno", and "their next project, taking Anno 1800 as a reference point.

We also know that Ubisoft Blue Byte received a ~5.7 million € grant by the German government, running from September 2023 into November 2025 for an as-yet unnamed new project. This was made official at Gamescom 2023. Given the criteria for the grant, the total budget of this project would supposedly have to be beyond 20 million € - not something a lot of the game projects in Germany get to most of the time, so it's something big.

The same website also posted this supposed excerpt of the grant's documents, speculating that it's the next Anno.

Quick translate of the most crucial details:
- tried and true, popular concept
- ingame world can be explored, changed etc. according to your wishes
- all platforms
- singleplayer campaign
- flexible multiplayer modes

Off the top of my head, "Settlers" and "Anno" are the only two franchises developed by the German BlueByte divisions with gameplay vaguely fitting the description and large enough to fit the potential budget.
And the latest "Settlers" released in 2023 and mostly failed.
Personally, I'm hoping for a Viking-themed Anno 801 / 810 for the next game, and then a Roman-themed Anno 9 as the game after that (as it would coincidentally *be* the ninth game in the series).

I hope futuristic game or some fantasy stuff, even tho I think Anno 1800 is super good I gotta say historical realism bores the ♥♥♥♥ out of me. Anno 2070 still best anno game for me.

They do an amazing job at the historical theme.

Then people are like "Anno 3000 in space, humans are traveling through space on asteroids that they flattened into buildable area before 3 warring factions broke off from each other"

"Trade between asteroids using space probes, space freighters, or even the great eastern space station!"

"Mine resources such as carbon and exotic minerals, generate power from solar, conserve water resources, and place hydroponic farms!"

Blegh

Not sure we will see a fantasy or futuristic Anno for a while, they were always focused on historical titles and when they did 2070 and 2205 they got a bit of a mixed bag of reactions, so I think they will be on historical titles again for a while, I may be wrong though, that's just my opinion

2070 was great, 2205 was ♥♥♥♥ because it just wasn't anno, with preset maps and all.
