Game does not save, no save game folder

The game on Windows 10 does not save or load, I can save without errors, but when I click load, the profiles are blank.. in the main menu I can continue a game, but if I exit and launch the game again there is no saved games.. I tried to find the save folder in documents/anno 1800/accounts, but there is no Anno 1800 folder there.. nothing online pointing to a solution.. tried to launch the ubisoft launcher in compatibility mode run as admin,s till same issue

Solved the issue, the windows ransomware protection was blocking the game process from writing to the user folder. Once I allowed it in the block history of manage ransomware protection it solved the problem

Not fixed for me. Spent 8.8 hours progressing a campaign and saved twice with no reported errors to find out on starting the game again that there are no "load saved game" option nor any data saved both on steam or in that UBI store connect thing that actually has a saved game folder but empty. Should I ask for refund ? Checked Windows ransomware protection, no history of this code being blocked.
