Game Crashing due to memory constrictions

This started to happen yesterday. About 1 hour in I get a message that says

Oh noes :(
The Application tried to allocate Memory, but there is not enough free RAM left.

When I load Anno my RAM usage is about 29% and it jumps to around 90 on launch. Up until yesterday I was able to play for hours at a time. When this error occurred the RAM usage was at 93%.

i7 4790
16GB DDR3
GTX 1660
Windows 10 desktop

The game uses a lot of RAM. I suggest closing chrome and other background things using RAM.

On the store page recommended RAM is 8gb, no way double that amount doesnt suffice to play the game normally

I can hardly even get to Artisan's, and then the game crashes due to not enough RAM even playing 10 minutes. 16GB with 10GB free. Game definitely gets a thumbs down.

Oh my gosh, I haven't played ANNO 1800 for a while, and when I went back to play recently, this problem also occurred! And my computer has 64GB of RAM!
Although I was running other games at the same time, I observed that before turning on ANNO 1800, the memory occupied only 37%!

As the message tells you... You need more RAM or free used RAM by closing all unneeded programs and background applications. It's as simple as that.
