I am not able to build an iron mine?

Hi everyone, I have 1000 workers and am currently still not able to build the mine. It says I have 0 iron on my island even though I have one. The warehouse is right next to it and is connected to the harbour. Does anyone else have this problem?

are you playing campaign? you have to do a quest where you blow up a stone wall to unlock the iron mine in the location.
