Anyplace we can buy legal Anno 1800 steam keys??
Greetings all :Greet:

as the title says, I've been looking for online stores where I can purchase LEGAL steam keys for Anno 1800. My efforts so far have unfortunately been in vain, which is why I thought I'll best ask the community and those of you who got the game on time before they withdrew it from steam store.

I had the game on my wishlist for a long time, but sadly, back in 2019 I was careless enough to not pay attention to ubisoft's dirty little shams behind the scenes and so I missed the opportunity to get my copy. It's a shame, really, as I like to have my games in one central library and prefer to manage my entire collection from steam. It was only recently ago that my appetite for the game came up again, but I won't buy it as long as it is Uplay exclusive. No way!

I already found all the season passes and DLCs here still for sale, but the base Anno 1800 game is what I need first of course. Any helpful tips regarding online retailers would be much appreciated. Please refrain from sending me links to shady sites as I do not condone software piracy.

Thanks in advance.

It is currently not possible to buy Steam CD keys for Anno 1800 as the only time you could get the game on Steam was before it was released.

I do agree that the managers of Anno 1800 need to come out and make the game available for sale on Steam for anyone else who did not get a chance to order it before it was de-listed by the managers.

Thank you for your reply Vyndicu. Yeah, Anno 1800's withdrawal from steam store has indeed been my biggest problem ever since and it's been an arduous quest to find ways of obtaining a legal key for the damn game, that I can tell you, LOL

I've actually found the site CJS-CDKEYS where they are apparently still selling steam keys for the game, but comments and reviews regarding that site's legitimacy have been more confusing than helpful :( I won't buy anythign there until I have an official statement from steam support regarding CJS, and I do hope they get back to me asap.

There are people claiming how CJS's service is not legitimate at all and that they are in fact selling credentials for stolen steam accounts, which is why I have been hesitant. I'm just not interested in any criminal activities and simply want to obtain a legal copy of Anno 1800 for my account. In any case, I will not buy it as long as it stays Uplay-exclusive. I want to share my screenshots on steam and play with my other friends on mp here.

I wish I knew of a legit cd key reseller for Anno 1800.

I wouldn't trust a site like CJS-CDKEYS; besides, the official support from Ubisoft/I will be along shortly to confirm that there is no way to get your hand on a cd key for Anno 1800 at the moment.

I have been frustrated with the lack of an official way to get your hand on Anno 1800 and the overall experience of buying DLC for Anno 1800 (not easy to search for an unlisted game's DLC).

Yeah it sucks, but it's Ubisoft's loss, LOL

Here is a customer who is willing to spend money on their product but their greed-induced stupidity is depriving them of excellent profits as I'd buy the whole package right away. I don't even wait for discounts. :yoku2:

And in case you're looking to complete your DLC collection, see this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/916440/discussions/0/3185741160903151961/ the game's season passes and DLC packs are still available for purchase here on steam store.

I know there are guides, reviews, and other threads with links to DLCs.

I was hoping Ubisoft would one day come to their senses and put links to all other DLC on the main steam shop page instead of navigating to other locations outside the Steam Main Store to find them.

I can only second that  yeah, it's definitely up to them if they wish to win further customers or not. In the meantime, I'll be taking my money somewhere else :SiT_RKitten::goldengift::sutmm:

I like my games staying in Steam catalog as well. I buy quite frequently from Humble Bundle including getting the monthly bundle. The thing is sometimes Humble has other platform games on sale and I don't notice until after I purchased. I guess it's not a big deal because I have multiple other platforms installed. Anyway what I'm getting at is I bought the complete addition of Anno 1800 from Humble while it was on sale. It only works on Ubi's platform. It has achievements but the reason I like steam so much is because of how achievements are setup and it keeps my Library in one place.

yep, exactly. And you can share your games-related content with friends and the community in a much better and more convenient way on steam as well. Plus, I absolutely despise ubi's customer-hostile policies and shady practices, that's why I prefer to have my games registered and firmly secured on my steam account.

As long as Anno 1800 remains a uplay-exclusive product, I will not accept it even as a free gift. Never ever.

oh and just btw: should you stumble upon the store CJS-cd keys like me recently ago, steer clear of them. It's a piracy site dealing with stolen accounts among other things, and their falsely advertised steam keys for Anno 1800 are fake! It's the common uplay keys they are selling. Beware, you will not get a key for steam!

Yeah, I bought through a few third party sites like that a couple times and it was a real crap shoot if it was going to work or not. I bought some Sims Xpacks a few times. It was interesting because sometimes they would work, sometimes they wouldn't work at all and sometimes they would work for a few weeks then break. I hear you on Ubi platform. It's not really all that great. I have some games over there though that I've gotten over the years so I don't mind using it sometimes.
