Is it possible to enable DLC in an existing save?
Good afternoon,
I am slowly buying up DLC packs for ANNO, I started my current playthrough after buying up Season Pack Two which I chosen to buy first because of Palace DLC. I am quite invested in my current save and I want to know that if, when I buy next Season Pack I seek to (Season Pack One), will it be possible to enable it for such playthrough or will I need to start from scratch?
I am quite invested into that specific playthrough and I seek to see the DCLs content working for it. It was built on current version of the game, I am just buying up DLCs gradually rather than all at once.
Would it work?

Yes but if is a game directly continued from the campaign I am not 100% sure if it works. (Hey guys someone knows?)

Works in campaign, too. I've had that happen to me. Got Season 3 while playing a campaign.

As I know the rules are when you buy a new of those season expansions:

-If you have a game, when you load it again you will receive a message your new DLC is detected and you will be asked once if you want to activate it with your current game. I am not 100% sure but you must decide because you will be asked just once (IN your case I assume your answer would be yes).

-For any new game you can configure it turning on and off each existing DLC you like, but you are warned in those new games your decision is permanent for those new games (unless you get a new one the rule above applies).

AS A NOTE: i think this is only for the "sandbox", i don't know if it works if you decided continue your game in the campign, the campaign is different is only a sort of a very big tutorial.

So TL;DR yes if you have an old game and want to buy new DLC in theory you will be asked when you load it to activate your new DLC

Thank you for claryfing.
It's technically completed campaign, but it should work then.

I remember when I finished the campaign story immediately I received to search for the Queen quest, that is a mission that starts the Sunken Treasures (Cape Trelawney) DLC, so that will indicate the DLC works for a campaign game, but perhaps my memory betrays me, because I did it years ago.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Unless things have changed with this relaunch, you shouldn't need an activation key. I've never had to deal with that when adding a Season Pack. Is something telling you you need a key?

Does this work for multiplayer too? My wife and I got the very same expansions, we are invested in our savegame and we're thinking of both buying the same DLC.
