AI taking over every island instantly

I just started another free game run. I have 250 hrs in this game and some good experience. As soon as I discovered the new world, all Islands got instantly occupied by my AI competitors. This run is basically ruined already. Like wtf is wrong with this game. Any ideas?

Just don't play with the AI or may be only the one star ...
Ai is always cheated in ANNO 1800 ^^

You just play to slow i guess, get those artisans faster and you wont have this problem.

Why would you say "WTF is wrong with this game" when you chose the difficulty of the AI at the start of the game. Its your own fault.

Who were your AI competitors?

The easy AI: Bente, Willie, and Qing behave as you expected in that they will not reach any new region until after you do. The medium and hard AI will grow at their own pace regardless of what you do.

Trash your current game and start a new customized one. Just pick one AI or none until you get more comfortable with the game then you can go to any new region at leisure. You can also play without the pirates.

I chose hard competitors plus pirates. I didnt know or forgot they would go to new regions and that was my mistake. I expected them to wait so i waited as long as possible to travel to the new world.

Yeah, just play with Bente, Willie, and Qing. They'll behave exactly as you want. I only ever play with them. Anno 1800, for me, is a leisure game. I don't play it for an ultra-competitive experience where I feel like I have to rush. I have other games for that.

Play with them and you can take all the time you want growing your Old World city, and when you reach the New World, you'll see every island is untouched.

You probably already knew that, but just saying. Hope you can have fun with this game again.

thats how i have played most of the time but it got so boring. therefore I was looking for a challenge.

Yeah, I get that. Maybe mess around with the other settings. Set Pirates to Hard (honestly, still a bunch of pushovers), set City Incidents (fires, disease, riots) to Hard, Island Difficulty to Hard, etc.?

I remember to unlocked the achievement "Annoholic" in May 2019 with "Bente ,Qing and O'Mara "...
since after some much patches and DLC, i have tried recently with the sames conditions..
That is not more possible ...
