I have all the DLCs and they all work. All purchased from Steam.

You need to by the DLCs from the same place as the main game. So, Steam DLCs won't work with the game bought from Ubisoft/Epic and vice-versa. At least that's what many people say, and I personally wouldn't risk my money mixing them

I have the original cheese version ripoff from Steam (they knew it would not be supported in future). Thankfully all the DLC I got from Ubisoft work fine on Steam version of Anno 1800. Even the City Lights DLC which add nice animated building like Grocery Stalls and Pizza shops with people using them and city lamps lights, clocks etc. Only found on Ubisoft site.

The DLC's have never not worked for me. I bought the game the day before it went on sale on Steam. The next day it was removed from Steam. Since then I have bought most of the DLC's (some of the cosmetic ones I did not buy) as they have come out either through the Steam link to Ubisoft or directly from Ubisoft's game page. One was even bought by a relative (not sure where) and gifted to me. All have worked perfectly since the date of purchase.

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

If you buy them on Steam the next time you start the game (which also starts uplay) a message will pop up, if you want to tie the DLC-Key to uplay. After klicking yes the DLCs will also be active in your uplay account and will work like a charm.

Maybe that's the problem some people experience.
You could always find the uplay keys in Steam and activate them manually in uplay.

The issues that you might think of are the cosmetics from Ubisoft Connect (formerly Uplay) rewards.

Hey Daniel.Drache,

Just to confirm what some others have already noted - as long as the base game itself was purchased through Steam, DLC also purchased through Steam should work without issues.

If you have any trouble at all, please let us know!

The base game on steam works with dlc bough on uplay with this game, not sure if that has changed moving foward with uplays rebrand. I don't believe it is the case with most games.
