For this game, you have to have matching DLC for all players. Most likely, you'll play with the set of DLC from the player who has the least amount of DLC. Worse yet, if you have a seriously mismatched set of DLC (say, you only have season 3, but they only have season 1), you might be playing vanilla.
Unfortunately, it is more common to follow the matching DLC setup. There might be a few other companies who do the host thing like Paradox does, but I am not aware of them.
That is really unfortunate. I wish they'd be more consumer friendly.
That being said, there's still a lot in the base game and it's extremely fun so it's not entirely a loss or anything.
That's definitely the case for me. I'm planning on getting some DLC for Stellaris because I played a multiplayer game with some friends (the host having all of it), and I just can't play the single player without that content now lol
For example if the dlc player can go in other area the no dlc player cant go in other area or can go only for destroyng the players ship without can build a settlement or special feature missions. In this way can fix and make more marketing for make more players to buyng the dlc. Otherwise less people buyng the dlc on day 1 because few people bought it :)
Who know... maybe the ubisoft read it :)
You don't have any right, not even to say it's yours, for what YOU Paid, it's not yours even if you worked and spent your hard earned money for it (or ur parents), that #$&!T has to CHANGE, They have to CHANGE 4 GOOD.
These Company/Industry ways of "taking out all of our rights" is getting WORSE every Year, something has to STOP and Re-Start how "Games" Companies work again.
Last time i checked if i paid to own something when i was young, my parents (when young) and now me (as an adult) had the right to say when i could play, not some rich chairman who taxes us more every year for games we can't even say we "Own" and just doesn't care at all for "US who PAY" and deserve better than what they're doing right now.
