The balance sheet going up and down is annoying
Why they add this in the other anno ( 2070 and 2205) this was not there

This has been in all the previous historical ANNO's. It's what drives you to succeed, because you run out of money pretty fast if you don't. That being said, I think they need to dial down the "maintenance" costs. And are those per hour, day, year, what? I don't see a game clock anywhere.

This effect also seems to be amplified when you send a ship on an Expedition... I've noticed that while I'm gone my balance crashes into the red, then returns to it's normal (positive) balance when I come back to my island. Anyone else notice this?

ALSO - What's with making me play 2 games at once? Trying to run an expedition and I'm still getting messages from the old world island... What, we got telephones, now? Give us a pause we can work through, or at least pause the old world while we're in the new.

If I wanted to play Whack-A-Mole I'd go to the arcade!

I can't speak to any of the anno games before 1701 but this is standard across all the games. If you aren't producing enough to meet needs your balance takes a dip. Same as it ever was

It is supposed to be going up and down when your city;s goods/service supplies ran unstable.
You will have to look into the supply chain and see if there is a shortage or over production, or delivery service is up to the job.

It's like you get a wee bit short on shnapps and suddenly there is a mass exodus of peasants, bloody wankers. I like the game but the economy and demographics are WAAAY too volatile.. we're on an island, get upset but your not gonna swim back to London.
