The orbital part, while I like it in theory, was advanced math for me. I just didn't understand any of it lmfao.
1800, With sandbox and multiplayer was a instant buy for me,
2205 Looked really cool just lacked everything I wanted from the series. I know combat in it sucked.
It is a very pretty game. That's about it.
They nailed Anno 1800 though. Pitch perfect and can't wait to keep going at the full release.
1.easy to tell how your resource trends were going, the bar flat out told you how much you were making more or less of a good unlike anno 2070 and anno 1800 I would have to look at the warehouse for a while in order to tell if i was losing or gaining, even then idk how much i was making/ losing exactly.
2. I liked the idea and how each zone had different challanges
- temperate zones had the most demanding citizens but also needed to make enough money to support so you don't go bankrupt on the other 2 regions
- artic zones required you to provide heat for your people
- the lunar zones required shield for all buildings
3. each map had its own special project.
4. my experences with it when I was doing my first run though it.
However thats about it. imo the game was too shallow and could get boring fast. there was also basicly no difficulty once you met the production gap. your people would always be happy as long as you fulfilled the amount of goods they wanted and there was basicly no way to fail unless you went out of your way to make enough factories to send you into debt. In a dlc they added where the antagonist could attack you but it felt like an annoyance then an actual challange and imo that dlc should have been in the game to begin with.
overall while the game was mediocore, I did enjoy it just not as much as anno 2070 or other city builders.
However I stopped playing 2205 quite early on, because it felt as if there never was a real sandbox and core elements of the ANNO series just had gone missing. The game never went out of the tutorial phase. There were goals constantly to fulfill and it even told you what and how many to build FOR HOURS.
It looked great, the scale was amazing and the gameplay was horrid.
I have played some of the first anno games ages ago but its so long ago i can't remember, i did buy anno 2070 instantly after 2205 but had not time to play that and i heard its really good too. But i do think devs did a good call making anno 2205 a bit different and trying things because you can't always do the same game with different theme but need to change other stuff too. Of course some like it and others do not.
