Seed Number

Is there a way to find out the seed number of a map you are playing on, after the game has started? I'm on a cool map and I'd like to play it again when the full game is released.

Hmm I have not seen it yet, I'm looking for my current seed number as well. Have not seen it when starting a save.

No i was wrong.
I wrote my up before start always do so i can get it if the map is good

If you try starting a new game, the seed setting in the lobby will be set to whatever you had it on last time.

I actually tried seed number 1 on archipelago on large islands and it was a very nice and large island and it even had hops on it!

Go to your savegame folder for Anno 1800 and open your saved game with notepad. Use the find option (Ctr+f) and type in Seed. It will show you the map number (seed number). It should be a 1-9 digit number. Keep in mind that you have to have all the exact island settings such as island size, construction difficulty, raw materials and so on. if you want the map to be exactly the same.

This is what you had to do in previous versions of the game series hope it works for you.

I'm having a nice time on 4444. It has hops and the island design allows for a clear separation of residential and farms/industrial areas.

An old seed from 1404 gave me a nice Corners world.

I turned off all but Bente Jorgeson because I wanted to actually build, not deal with constant whining from "can i buy this island?" or having a key island taken before I could get to it. I like that pirates respawn after a time, but that was a big factor in me turning them off for this map.

Hello all, I think I have found a way.

Load old game, start new game. The seed listed is the previous seed used during the old load. Atleast mine swapped back and forward between the saves.
And not random. So I found my Map

PS: Same goes for all settings on the map. I just wanted to swap out 1 NPC and start fresh.
All good now.

Mine? Well I thougth I was using 7000+ But I misclicked and used 1.
So after trying to find the map like 20 times. I started testing.
Thats when I saw the swap of map data when I used diffrent loads.

Do the different layouts like "Island Arc" or "Corners" give different islands ? Or are the actual islands the same, just in different locations of the map ?
