How to make a simple bridge
All My clay resources are on the other side of a river - how do you cross a silly river to bring clay over to my city?

Got in the same situation. I think it has to do with the bridge not always appearing instantly, in some cases you see the red 'interdiction squares' over a river, if you are too 'shy' in the movement of your mouse cursor.

I stuck in the same place when seeing the red 'interdiction squares' over a river. Spent some time to look for bridge in the building section and nothing found of course. Good to know. Thanks for the question and answer.

I think it can happen if you get the start point slightly wrong. You need to start your bridge/road on the last tile of the road not the first tile of the bridge. If it doesn't appear, just start it a couple of tiles away from the river.

My bridges essentially blot out the sun because rivers are really just bridges waiting to be made.

You probably tried before, like I did, with no success because we didn't start the bridge Exactly where it had to be started. In all the game, and in most other games, there's some flexibility in the placement of objects, but not for the bridges of this game. And if there's no flexibility in other games, they will tell you what the problem is. Not in this game. You are not the one who's the idiot!
