How do you expand? At Level "Artistans"

Hi guys,

i just wonder how you settle your population and what conditions must be given to do that. I played 1800 around 100 hours now and still don't know if it's smarter to concentrate to max. population on my first island or if I settle a new, better one and do a lot of imports via smaller islands?

It would depend on how you want to play the game. You could just stay at the Artisan level and settle for that, but if you want to advance to the Investors level it is much easier to do it on one island. Build up your main island while using other islands as production islands (you can't produce everything on one island). As you upgrade from level to level it will become necessary to populate other islands, with farmers and workers, and build commuter piers just to keep your work force up. The commuter pier is available at the engineer level and need to be built on your main island and the production island. You'll be limited by the number of islands you have settled with at least a warehouse, that's why it's advisable to grab as many islands at the start of the game as you can. Eventually you could start moving factories off your main island to make room for more houses, expanding the zoo and museum and of course the palace. You will start to see that trying to get to the Investor level on more then one island would be quite a challenge. Hope this makes sense for you. Good luck, have fun.

I'll concentrate to settle the big island, where I have to find treasures at sea as newe project. Let's see how it works! :)
