Explosion Chance - It's bad design
I get it. In the 19th century, factories weren't all that safe, explosions could happen. And I respect that Blue Byte wanted to add a bit of this into the game. But it's bad design the way it's currently implemented.

I've posted about this problem once before. I decided I would try a different approach to eliminate the problem with a new save. Aaaaaand.... it's still happening. Schnapps factory, all by its lonesome, with a fire station within spitting distance, and it still explodes.

It wouldn't be an issue if it didn't obliterate the building, but it does. I would even accept this event if it didn't level the building, but it does.

Everything about the way this currently works is just bad design. It doesn't add anything to the game but annoyance and frustration.

Now lets present a solution or two without removing this awful event entirely.

Option 1 - Instead of leveling the building, requiring it to be rebuilt, it takes a large chunk of damage (lets say around 80% of its total health) and spreads fire to all buildings within a five tile radius. If the building collapses due to burning down, it explodes a second time, dealing massive damage to nearby buildings, possibly causing a chain reaction of explosions. This could be dealt with by having enough fire stations and/or spreading out your buildings.

Option 2 - If the building really needs to be reduced to rubble, please allow an option to auto-rebuild buildings that are destroyed because of the asinine event that cannot be eliminated.

You can eliminate it by putting several fire stations next to the building. Just keep putting stations next to it and check the incident chances until there's no risk of explosion.

I had seven of them surrounding it at one point. Chance was still "Very Low", which means it sill happens. But even that method of dealing with it shows how bad the design of this is.

Did you try putting an eighth one down?

Completly agreed
