An option to just destroy everything (neutralize the island) isnt given. Which is rather weird.
On the other hand by thinking about it, its kind of a problem that you can outright just destroy everything another player has built on an island with one mouseclick.
Thats how it can work right now aswell. Maybe they have to tweak the system a bit more.
The most i personally miss are land based defenses, like castles and towers.
but then again, what do i know, i haven't played the Beta, becaue im not in it and i'll wait for the full game to realese in april.
so please Blue Byte/Ubisoft make a good Anno happen. :)
i still love my 1404 to death.
Thats mostly ok and its a good decision to wait. However, it was a sure buy for me anyway, and im not put off by the beta at all. In fact its rather the opposite, i just want to play the full version now. Its a really good game, the best Anno in most regards till now. The AI is its only bane as of now.
I understand that but the most important thing, for me, is the ship. But i like the land troops too.
The lower it sinks, the more likely it is that the island surrenders. At a certain point the island definetly is beaten and has to surrender to the attacker.
The more defenses the island has, the harder it is to beat.
When you successfully beat an island, you can choose whether you want to raid it and get a higher income (enemy buildings and harbor stay functional and the island stays in ownership of the opponent) or whether you want to capture the island.
When capturing all buildings of the opposing player get erased/destroyed except the harbor, the harbor now changes ownership to you.
it just does not have that magic i remember as a young man playing anno 1602 and anno 1503
That's what taking the island does, it completely destroys all buildings of that opponent. If you don't actually want the island after that you can just deconstruct the harbor as well.
