Tips for mid game, late game.

So im playing on normal with pirates and everything turned on with one other ai player(easy). Im running into the problem of keeping my people happy and running out of room to put my bigger buildings into my towns. i try to keep room with blueprint mode but im still running out of room. Ive noticed that my investors dont need the tir one supplies anymore and ive tried moving them to another island and its helping a bit but im still tight on room.

On another island perhaps with potato, pepper & wheat, start another population for farmers & workers. You can route supplies for canned goods, beer, bread etc., to your main island for production. This should give your main island more room for Artisans & up.

That is actually the purpose of the game. To have more than one island. You cant make it otherwise.

_fantail_ has it correct. What has worked best for me was to focus Engineers, Investors, and Artisans on my starting island, have one island for Farmers and Workers (connected via Commuter Pier) and another island for resources, supplies and if you prefer, some of the more polluting industries.

You can have more than three islands, of course, and it's okay to keep some industries on your island with the investors. Farmland, though, takes up a lot of room, so if it's possible to shift it to another island and import goods you need reliably, do so.

Dont increase your population too much in early-mid game. Wait until the AWESOME COMMUTER PIER!!! It's unlocked when you reach engineer level and it allows people to travel from your main island to the other ones so you dont need to have every island populated. Just build two commuter piers and people will travel in between. THEN you can increase your population as much you want!
