Anno 1800 via steam - uplay required on PC?
I recently read that the steam version of Anno 1800 still requires uplay running on the pc.
Is that right?

Highly possible. Most Ubisoft games are run from uPlay

So what is the advantage of buying Anno on steam?

If so, it is one more anno game that i wont buy.
Thankfully the market of strategy games is diverse and plentiful.

So pretty much you haven't bought any Anno games since 1404? Why are you still here, then? :))))

You really think that after starting 2070 with Uplay, they would go back to NO Uplay? :))))

EDIT: Yeah, even a private profile, go away troll, nobody cares about you or you pirating games.

Im curious what the issue of someone having a private profile is? Surely they could just not want some weird stranger like yourself spying on everything they do on steam?

Because people with complete private profiles can be trolls, and most of the times, they are. Have less or minimum info out, sure! Even if badges are shown you pretty much can tell something from said person, as in, how many games they have.

If someone with 2 games in their account, none of which even resembles strategy comes here to ***** and to troll, then yeah, they shouldn't be allowed.

And please do tell me how he ain't a troll: Market for strategy is divers, want to tell me how divers is with Anno mechanics? Hmm, let's see, other variants are Tropico and City Skylines, WOW! Much diversity, so entertaining, wow!

He is or, trolling, or just being a rude UBI white knight. Accusing someone of piracy, just for having a private profile, something that i even wasnt aware of, is just ridicoulous.

Ubisoft is being stubborn for some reason insisting in uplay, probably they are convinced that they can make more money with that system and im alright with that, but i dont like it, im in my right to write and point it as a reason to dont buy their products, in realitty it is a favour that im doing to them, giving some feedback about my option to not buy games, that otherwise i very likely would buy.

Hi guys

One Question

Can my Family play this game with family-share?
I heard that you can not share all the games. Especially those who need a 3 provider account. Like Uplay.
I want to buy the game for my dad and I wanted to know if I can play it via family.share.

Hey there, Enwor, no, you can't play it.

Once bought here, you will be given a key to redeem it in your Uplay account. So if you buy it for your dad, your dad will need an Uplay account to be able to launch the game also. So if you would like to play the game, you would have to do it through your dad's Uplay account, which is... against the ToS most likely :)
