not the best tip, dirt roads don't increase by 3 all the time. i've seen it increase by 2 on several occassions, it will be off by a few blocks. it's more accurately 2.6 or 2.7 but the game doesn't work on decimals.
Using roads as rulers is how everyone has done it for every Anno game since the dawn of time.
You can even ghost out all of your industries. I played for hours without realizing this feature was there. It is so awesome. And I don't need to count grids anymore, because I can lay down the buildings first and then just wrap the roads around them however I want.
I also want to add that the ghost police/fire/etc. also highlight how far they reach. So you know everything you need.
i'm sure it is but dividing by 3 will not give the correct number. other ANNO games also showed you a number for how many tiles long it was.
