About the low FPS
I see that this game is not so much GPU demanding, but it is quite CPU demanding...

I got an I7490 and since i made an overclock i could run the game 2x better, still a bit bad, like 19fps-60fps but it is playable, i wonder if this results that i am getting are pretty sure how its gonna be due to my CPU limitations or should i expect to got more FPS after the update?

yes. there is currently a bug in anno, where large friendlists cause a fps drop on steam. try offline mode in steam, should get better then.

The friends list explanation is suspect...I have 11 people on my friends list and I'm getting huge FPS drops. The game is very poorly optimized, simple as that. It needs a patch to address optimization of graphics and CPU loads.

i am sure the problem of FPS is on the CPU
But i am really wondering how will be the changes after the patch, i mean, i am getting average of 22-25, will i be able to at least play on 32-35 with my current rig or it is byone my CPU capacity

Glad to see you guys are monitoring the Steam forums still. Thanks for the info, the game runs great in offline mode for me at 4K but it will be nice to have to go through the hassle everytime I want to play for a bit.

Thanks for the reply, but my concern is if i am acctually sufering of this perfomance problem or it is just my CPU that is too week

Well, did you check your CPU usage? I have a i7-6700K and right when starting a new campaign (without having anything built yet) I get like 6-8fps, while the process uses only 9% CPU and my total usage is like 20%. So it's definitely not the CPU. GPU usage is only 20% or so at that time. I have ~900 friends in my list, though. If they are polling all those for some reason that really would explain it.

EDIT: Also, I get 6-8fps even during the Ubisoft logo intro video and in the menu. If that is not the case for you, you are not suffering from that bug, I guess.

Yep, CPU usage reaches 100%

During the menu or loading screens the FPS is never constant, it can reach 50 and then sundelly drops to 5

IN game, the difference is also huge, not crowded area, it can be betwwen 45-50, but when it goes to big cities, it can reach 17

Then I guess you are not or only slightly affected by that bug. Without offline mode I never go above 10fps at any point in the game, including menu and logo intro. With it I have like 60 or more ingame, my maximum of 100fps during the logo video. I mean, 8fps during a simple video clearly indicates a problem other than CPU/GPU performance. Of course that doesn't mean there are no performance issues on top of that, like you are experiencing.

They are apparently aware of the bug and a patch was announced for the 25th.
