No clue, no one really knows, my personal theory is they might be used in the Museum but I haven't made it that far to test it out yet or they may be used in some other end-game building.
It's also very possible that there just purely cosmetic items that are funny little story querks that the developers included (I personally hope it's not that and I hope they do have a use somewhere).
Another theory someone mentioned was maybe they can be used in Expeditions to unlock a secret item or hidden item but so far there is no evidence to suggest any theory is correct or not.
It's also possible they've been included as easter eggs. The developers did state in the past that there would be easter egg items in the game that keen eyes could point out. Possible throwbacks to previous Anno titles.
purely for easter eggs, i would say they are a bit too common...
So far I've only seen or found 5 of them so I'm not sure how common they really are. I know there should be a lot more but compared to the abundance of other items these ones are fairly scarce.
Your welcome, I'll try to keep it up to date as I play and discover more.
In my current savegame (~30h playtime) i do have like 20-30 of these. lost quite some, but especially in early game they appeared very often.
So what your saying is I have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of work left to do. Also I was just thinking too that I've only seen like 2 Steamship items and 1 Sailing Ship items so I know there are tons more to discover, it's difficult trying to play the game and try to keep track of them all.
So far I've found like 105 unique items. I'm guessing there are probably 200 or so in the game, maybe even more.
Yeah I've been doing that to try and catch as many as I can but each time you refresh the page the cost doubles and it adds up quickly. Goes from 5k to 10k to 20k, ect...
sure, but what i mean is, that you should have a look there every 10-15 minutes, where it refreshes automatically.
This is really awesome and very informative! Thanks for taking the time to write this up and share it here. I'm sure many players can find it very useful. :)
Pssst ask the devs what are Character Items used for so it can be even more informative ;)
