issues with alliances

They really need to fix this. I was allianced with 2 people. One of them declared war randomly on a super powerful person i was friends with. Them she just comes in and ♥♥♥♥♥ up everything.

You need to be able to say no to going into wars.

Hah, the EXACT same thing happened to me.

If I ever do another play through I will be only going up to Trade Rights and no higher. Alliance is in no way worth it cause they don't even send ships to help fight when YOU might get into trouble.

Worth noting that you do get to pick your side or stay neutral but only when both sides (attacker and defender) are your allies. If you're allied only to one of them and another is just your friend, trade partner, then yes, war is being declared automatically.

I agree. This is a flaw, invariably, I enter into an Alliance and my "ally" declares war on my "friend". Now i have a bad war on my hands. I decline ALL alliances until I can decline one.

Thats how alliances work. If you ally someone and go to war, they will also have to go to war unless it was their ally. With bots you should not really do alliances, just trade rights and ceasefires.
