placement of factories??
is it better to place factories next to the resources they require or isolate all factories in one location and take advantage of the benefits from the trade union buildings?? I have seen people play both ways. it seems that placing factories close to the resources they need would be more efficient.. Curious how other players maximizxe factory production/output...

Since the smelter needs to send a wagon out to collect supplies he can mind as well do it at the warehouse instead of the mine directly.

I put all my buildings close together that is in the same pruduction line.
first to find them easily and second for union houses. if i put some up.

its just easier for me to manage thats all.

I find it more efficient to dedicate one island to all factories and production buildings. This way it is usually enough to have 2-3 trade unions and 2 power plants to cover them all. Both trade unions (with right items) and power plants significantly boost their efficiency so you have to spent much less money on their maintenance and need less workers.

Plus you can cram a much larger production capacity into the same space.
