Anne Harlow wont rebuild her base
hi.

i was playing sandbox against 3 NPCs, on a corner map, somehow Anne Harlow got her base wiped and she disappeared from the diplomacy screen. after a while she reappeared on the diplomacy screen and are able to offer quests, but her base remain destroyed so i cant trade with her.

i heard that she re-spawns from time to time with any one of her ships sails into the base, but its been 4 hours and her base is still a pile of rubble. and not a single ship of hers is seen on the map expect for the quest giving one.

am i fooked? had no other option but to restart? am i doing anything wrong? i want my red hair pirate back

do not think the pirate base's rebuild once destroyed. but you are right, they will still spawn ships now and then even when base is destroyed.

I believe the pirates will eventually send ships that rebuild the entire base. If you want them to return, make sure the island is undefended so your ships don't destroy their repair crew.

its been 4 hours, and not a sign of this "reapir crew" i guess i have to suppress all other NPCs and wait for it to re-spawn(ramdom location?

I think the pirates bug out if their resettle ship gets destroyed at the same moment it resettles. In my campaing game an NPC destroyed the resettle ship the same moment I got the announcement about pirates resettling. The end result is that Anne is back in the diplomacy screen, but does not have any ships and the base is both rebuild and destroyed at the same time. Turrets are there again, but they do not fire and cannot be targeted. Haven't found a way to fix this.

i have never seen any message about resettlement at all, and her base remained at the same status as the moment she got wiped, all turrets gone, main building collapsed and no trades screens

I'm having the same problem. I've destroyed her island and remember to have denied her resettlement 2-3 times. I have never seen her returning since. I've been playing throughout Sunken Treasures and now Botanica DLC's and still not once has she returned to resettle.

I had defeated countless time the resettlement of Jean La Fortune but he kept coming back. I'm now at a point where I'd like to engage in trading with both of them.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

I thought the latest patch (season 4) fixed this, as it spawned new ships for Anne to resettle and triggered the resettle quest. But the quest finished and the ships just idle there and the base was not rebuild. Now Anne is also missing from the diplomacy menu. :(

Hiya everyone,
Sorry to hear that some of you encountered this bug in game.
As Dracon said, this has been fixed with the latest patch, but the fix doesn't affect the savegames where the issue is already present.
So in any case, it should be fixed if you start a new sandbox save.

Don't hesitate if you need anything else.

It is nice that it is fixed, but this sounds like an issue that would be fixed by introducing some kind of reset functionality. Instead of ditching a 190 hour save (and the game) there should be some way to just reset the state of things on an old save. Like pirates, all ships, diplomacy statuses etc. With no console to fix these, just a reset save function would help a lot of players. Even if it would reset money etc it would be worth it.

The same save has an issue with multiples of NPC quests ships that have just kept spawning. Madame Kahina's harbour looks like the trade center of the world with 20 excess quest ships. A reset state function could be used to fix this too. It is not worthwhile to commit 100 hours to another save just to have it ruined by a bug that could easily be fixed with some kind of reset state function. If the games can last this long there should be countermeasures to fix issues.

Hey there

I completely understand your frustration with this. It's an unfortunate situation that in a lot of cases the fixes are not always retrospective as it stands.

I will certainly pass your feedback on to the team regarding this request.

Thanks

And what has become of it?
I have had the same problem for a long time. My savegame also has 190 hours. And both pirates are destroyed. There are 3 ships anchored in front of each base, but they are not rebuilt. And just because Anno 1800, with all the expansions, is so extremely lengthy, I don't want to just start from scratch when I haven't even played through the endless game once, with everything that's available so far.

With such a crappy lengthy game, it's unreasonable to say that players should create a new save game!

I love Anno. But I'm not starting from scratch because of a mistake I didn't make. Then almost 200 hours of life would be wasted for me. Because even though Anno 1800 is crazy fun, I also want to achieve something and do nothing for nothing!

This is unfortunately not correct. I started my current game just one month ago and Harlow bugged at some point when she was trying to rebuild the base and got destroyed by me. Now she still sends ships to rebuild the base and is briefly visible on diplomacy screen, but the ships just accumulate in the cove of her island and never rebuild the base. When I approach them with my ships, they attack.
