character items?
I've got some items from destroyed enemy ships; things like: Von Malching family seal, germ resistant soap, old pirate hat, and more. They seem to be related to certain in-game characters.

They don't give any stat boosts and also can't be sold. Anyone knows what's the use for such items?

You can sell them for 25 gold coins if you go to one of the traders' harbors. So they are pretty much useless.

In Anno 1404 you could sell charafter items for 25 honor which was hardly anything, but at least somewhat useful, so I dunno why they made them even more worthless in this game.

I think they're just meant to be fun little trophies with no actual in game utility.

It's always a bummer when you're hoping for gold or advanced weapons from a sunken ship and you get a character item.

They do provide influence points

Hold on, what? If you just have them in your warehouse?

Some items pretty useless, but some may be sort of easter eggs, and you could try to take it on expeditions and may get unique variants of actions for some situations.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could attach them to your character?
