Is there a story in this game?
I thought it would be story driven like sanctum 2 but its just all levels and towers etc unlocked from the start? Whats the point of having everything form the start?

sanctum is more of a proof of concept if you ask me.

I don't know what the intended point might of have been, I just know that I'm stuck on the second course, the Bridge, I think it's called. I tried pretty everything, and still stuck at wave eleven. It's really wave thirteen I don't manage, but the automated save point are at wave eleven for some reason. I have all the different towers available, and still I havn't managed to finish this course. The first course were easy in comparison.
If there's ever any multiplayer game going, join it (as thats rare these days). Watch how other people move and when they upgrade. The trick is to lengthen their route as much as you can. If thats just simple blocks that go back and forth thats probably best. You can fill in your turrets and upgrade your guns later. If you watch the waves list that should help you prepare for sudden flyers and tanks with the right towers.
If anyone needs help in the early levels chat me up.

As for story Sanctum doesn't need one. Sanctum2 tries to fill in the unanswered questions.

Truth be told Sanctum doesnt have much of a story. General concept is you're a soldier using tower building devices and advanced weapons to stop aliens from destroying the core. The entire reason this was made was mainly to see if it was possible (and if so, how creative they could get) with a crossover TD/FPS game. After the huge success this game had (not right at release, from what I understand it took about a year for it to really get popular and get a huge following) they decided it needed more story but didnt want to have to go back and recreate portions of the game to include it. Hence they created Sanctum 2, which introduced more characters, gave some backstory and also implemented a new tower/weapon system for characters to try and encourage the multiplayer mode which was one of the biggest hits for Sanctum to begin with.

While I love both, I personally prefer Sanctum due to having everything unlocked right at the beginning, giving it a more sandbox feeling as opposed to Sanctum 2 requiring you to level characters up and progress through the story to unlock things. Still both are great games though.

So... Sanctum is like the old computer games like Pong, Pacman, those games with three lives, tetris... a area is made up to do certain things in, and that's it? Those games were good, I played a few of them. I like this game too, maybe little to much cosmetics for my taste, but I like the game.
