Master Levels for DOOM II

Master Levels for DOOM II

How do I play this?
I get booted into dos and have no idea what I'm doing. This game doesn't seem to have been updated like the others. Any way of fixing that?

I'll make it easier for you, Doom 2 now comes with Master Levels included, you can just run that.
Else you are stuck to look for a source-port if you dont want to use dos.
I'm looking at the add-ons after registering for Bethesda.net. I'm not seeing it. Is it under a different name?

The master levels are part of the doom 2 game now. Go to new game and you can choose between hell on earth (doom 2) or master levels. Assuming you own doom 2 with the unity port.

If you need help with DOS version, I can walk you through it. Need to know what you're doing though.

Or if you want to use source port like GZDoom, I can walk you through that.

I do wanna mod these with Brutal Doom eventually. For now, I just wanna know which level packs are the Master Levels, what are they called? I looked under the add-ons and I can't find it.

First question is: are you playing Doom 2 when you're looking for add-ons? They are not under "add-ons." Go to new game on Doom 2. It will give you an option to play doom 2 levels or "master levels."

Question you need to answer before I can help is:

Do you want to play the DOS version, a source port version (zdoom or gzdoom), or do you want to play the new unity version?

I do wanna install Brutal Doom so I do wanna play a source port version yes.

You next need to decide which source port to use. ZDoom (aka Zandronum Doom), GZDoom (which is a different version of ZDoom), or another that Brutal Doom files are compatible with. I prefer GZDoom.

Download the source port you want to use. Then download Brutal Doom files. Place the Brutal doom files in ZDoom or GZDoom folder.

Extract the Master levels wad from this steam game. Put the Master levels wad file in the ZDoom or GZDoom folder.

More steps but these are starting point.

You can set up ZDoom or GZDoom to launch from Steam. Which would mean you would log hours on steam Master Levels game while using ZDoom or GZDoom.

I just looked at the wad files. Master levels were designed to be played one at a time. Meaning, instead of there being one wad that contained all the maps, you would have to plug each map in individually (originally in DOS). However, many people, including myself have compiled all the wads into a single wad file. I can help make this a lot easier for you. I'll send you a private message
