One more for the ignore list.
Especially, in areas like the base where lots of long dialogs take their time it would be great to save in between or leave the game without loosing progress.
But yes I agree If you have many interruptions F5 quick saves are nice.
It's a shame because I liked this game, but redoing this checkpoint does not interest me, I did it 3 times to succeed.
Devs your game is very good in a lot of ways it's unfortunate people don't like the checkpoint system, but in today's stressful world having checkpoints probably is too slow for many.
Perhaps have it so you can 'exit', and though you 'restart' a mission at a checkpoint area at least keep your stuff and kills.
A good compromise might be some sort of 'teleport to a checkpoint' location, the real problem isn't a 'checkpoint' starting spot,
it's that people can't leave the game when they want and still have it save everything.
In other words, make it so even halfway in a mission a person can 'leave', the game 'saves' everything, but just teleports you back to the starting checkpoint.
