Does Crimson Edge do anything special?

I notice it has a different animation from other weapons, seems to be a 2-hander or something. Just not sure if it's worth upgrading compared to my ninja blade or the defensive axe. I feel like I'm spreading gold around too much keeping all the weapons upgraded.

I think it is always best to just upgrade the gear that fits to the builds you like. If I got it right, that's the reason there are over 100 pieces to choose from.

The Crimson Edge is a heavy weapon class. It's the base weapon of that class, and it's a slower attacking weapon, but all damage done is increased as well.
